Laura Carr is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in practice in San Diego for 10 years.  Laura has her Master’s degree from Alliant International University.  Her bachelor’s degree, which she obtained at San Diego State University, is in Sociology. 

She is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and provides guidance and training to learning therapist at First Avenue Counseling Centre (a non-profit agency for the community) and at San Diego Hospice and Palliative Care.  She is also an Adjunct Professor at Alliant International University.  Laura has worked extensively with individuals, couples and families dealing with areas such as anxiety, depression, relationship conflict and enhancement (romantic, familial, friendship, work), food and body image issues, problems at work, issues of self sabotage and low self esteem, infertility and reproductive loss, grief & loss, sexual dissatisfaction, parenting skills, and overall personal growth. 

Laura has been married for over 8 years to another Marriage & Family Therapist, Daniel Carr.  One of their specialties is to work with couples as a couple so that the couple experiences both the male and female perspective.  Laura lived abroad in the UK for a year and is passionate about travel.  She has been to over 17 different countries.  She and her husband are parents to their amazing 3 year old son and spunky 4 year old Westie.
